Hungary Proposes HUF 120 Billion for Teacher Pay Increases

Hungary’s 2027 budget proposal, submitted on 31 October, allocates HUF 120 billion for an average 5.5% salary increase for approximately 164,000 teachers and educators. A further HUF 61 billion is proposed for 15% pay increases for 76,000 education support workers. The proposals create opportunities for professional training, education-sector consulting and workforce development.
